A contemporary relational approach to psychotherapy

There are times when we realize that something in our lives no longer feels the way we hope it could. It may be a relationship, a recurring pattern, or simply the sense that familiar ways of coping are no longer serving us. Whatever has brought you here, psychotherapy offers an opportunity to understand these experiences more deeply, recognize the patterns that shape them, and discover new possibilities for living and relating.

Beginning Therapy

We all develop ways of navigating emotions, relationships, and life's challenges. Many of these patterns begin as understandable responses to our earliest experiences and relationships. They help us adapt, protect ourselves, and make sense of the world.
Over time, however, some of these familiar ways of coping may begin to feel limiting. You may notice recurring patterns in relationships, persistent anxiety or self-criticism, difficulty feeling close to others, or a growing sense that something no longer feels the way you hope it could. Even when we recognize these patterns, changing them can be surprisingly difficult.
Psychotherapy offers an opportunity to approach these experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. Therapy is a collaborative process. My role is not to provide simple answers, but to offer a thoughtful relationship in which understanding can deepen, new perspectives can develop, and meaningful change can occur over time.

My Approach

I believe that therapy is most meaningful when it is guided by curiosity rather than judgment. Rather than viewing emotional difficulties as problems to eliminate, I understand them as experiences that have developed within the context of a person's life and relationships. Together we seek to understand not only what is happening in the present, but also how earlier experiences may continue to shape the ways we think, feel, and relate to others. My work is grounded in a contemporary relational approach to psychotherapy. This perspective recognizes that our earliest relationships influence how we come to understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. Although these patterns often begin as creative adaptations to life's circumstances, they can sometimes leave us feeling limited in the present. Therapy offers an opportunity to understand these patterns more fully and to discover new possibilities for living and relating.Research across attachment, developmental psychology, affective neuroscience, and psychotherapy consistently points to the importance of relationships in emotional growth and lasting change. My work is informed by this research while remaining grounded in the unique experiences, values, and goals that each person brings to therapy.I view therapy as a collaborative process. Together we create a space for thoughtful reflection, honest conversation, and a deeper understanding of the experiences that have shaped your life. My hope is that this work not only helps reduce immediate suffering, but also expands your capacity to live with greater freedom, authenticity, and connection.
